The nanoparticles (NPs) are becoming more and more important in various areas of research, development, and in the market. These result from their unique mechanical, electrical, and optical properties that are controlled by the chemical composition and the size. They can be water soluble or organic soluble. The water soluble NPs that are water soluble are useful for various life sciences applications. Water soluble NPs may either be biodegradable (BD) and biocompatible (BC) or not. The NPs that are BD and BC find applications in medicine, healthcare, pet care, home care, and even in agriculture.
Biodegradable Biocompatible Nanoparticles (NEW!!!)
The biodegradable biocompatble nanoparticles are completely made in-house at the Zystein facilities. These are made only of natural materials. They are supplied in the form of oil-in-water emulsions that may be used for research applications in the life sciences.To date, we offer only biodegradable biocompatible nanoparticles that are made of components that have been found to cause insignificant damage to animals and humans. These NPs are made of polymers that are derived from plants and shrimp and other crustaceans. We also still offer gold nanoparticles and silver nanoparticles.

Silver Nanoparticles
The silver nanoparticles (AgNP) are water soluble colloidal suspensions. The nanoparticles have an average diameter of 20 nm and are completely mono dispersed. The zeta potential ranges from -10mV to +10mV. It is stable in buffer at pH of 4-10 and can be autoclaved at 121°C for 30 min. The transmission Electron Microscopy, TEM, image shows that the AgNPs are only about 80% spherical in shape.

The nanoalginate is a biodegradable biocompatble nanoparticle made of hydrolyzed alginate in soy lecithin. The sizes range from 50 nm to 20 um. These are very stable and may be kept at room temperature.
